Bedroom Reading Lamp for Two

The lamp across was commissioned by a friend, whose beautiful Brooklyn apartment easily adopted the BX scheme. One of the challenges for this project was choosing the fixture in which the bulbs sit. I did not want to use anything that had been mass produced as a reading lamp, for such a fixture would render the rest of the lamp erroneous. Rather, I found an appropriately open-ended outdoor spotlight and painted it in a style inspired by distressing techniques. This lamp was designed with two people in mind, thus each bulb is equipped with its own control.
